The woodlands around the hotel contain a rich blend of oak, pine and birch with abundant wildlife.
Leave the hotel and turn right out of the gate, then take the first road on the right - Lagreach Brae. As you head down you will see a path that leads down against the back wall of the Green Park. head down the path and walk along the Lochside - keep going along the Lochside until you see the Dam. Head across the dam, taking in the lovely views as you go. Once over the Dam, keep to the left and this will lead you down the side of the fish ladder, and to the observation point at the end of the ladder. Here you can read the informative display and find out more about the salmon which use the ladder. Now continue along the road, passing the Theatre and through the hamlet of Port-na-Craig, just after which take the path to the left, taking you across the suspension bridge. Once over the bridge, you can head to the left, back up the other side of the River Tummel towards the Dam again. Once you reach an open grass park, head across to the 100 Steps path, at the top of the steps you will see the Dam Visitors Centre – a great place to catch your breath, view the information and interactive displays, browse the shop, and – perhaps most importantly, have a coffee and a bite to eat! Now you can head back to the Green park, by heading down towards the car park, where you can get back onto the path along the lochside that you were on earlier.
Approx 3.8km - will take between 1.5 and 2.5 hours dependant on speed & ability
