Outlined below is the itinerary for the 2024/2025 Hogmanay period. So as to make the most of your day, please feel free to arrive any time from mid-morning onwards, with complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes available in the lounges throughout your stay.
3.00pm
The first organised activity will be an afternoon tea in the sun
lounge.
Please help yourself from a selection of cakes, scones, meringues, preserves and biscuits.
6.30pm
Join us for a Sherry and Champagne Punch reception in the lounge prior to a
relaxing dinner.
The McMenemie Family will be on hand to welcome you, and to introduce you to your
fellow guests - a lot of whom you may already recognise from previous visits.
Dinner will be served from 7.00pm.
Background piano music in the main lounge will be provided, courtesy of Sandy Lindsay.
8.00 - 9.30am
The day starts with a full Scottish Breakfast, leaving the morning in
which to wander at your leisure by Loch Faskally, or perhaps a visit to The House of Bruar in search of a
bargain.
12.30 - 1.30pm
A light buffet lunch will be served in the dining room.
1.30pm - Welcome to the Movies
In April, 2013 the Birks cinema in Aberfeldy re-opened its doors to to the public, having been closed and out of business for over thirty years. It is now a state of the art, 100 seat digital 3D cinema and the Green Park Hotel has reserved its whole auditorium for an exclusive screening.
The film this year will be “Paddington in Peru” a furrier-than-normal Indiana Jones adventure – only with marmalade sandwiches, floppy hats and hard stares replacing whips, fedoras and, well, hard stares. Starring Antonio Banderas, Olivia Colman, Hugh Bonneville, Julia Walters, Imelda Staunton, Jim Broadbent and Ben Miller.
Alistair, Diane and Co will be on duty handing out refreshments, Ice Cream and Popcorn. Bus leaves the hotel at 1.30pm.
6.30pm
A Sherry reception in the lounges, leading on to a four course dinner from
7.00pm.
The Peter Stewart Trio will join us tonight to keep up the festive mood.
8.00 - 9.30am
The day starts again with a full Scottish Breakfast, leaving you the
morning to wander or drive at leisure through winter Perthshire - or why not head for the fireside with a
newspaper or a book.
1.00 - 2.00pm
An American Lunch will be served in the dining room.
6.30pm
Hogmanay dinner is not to be rushed.
Canapés, Sherry and Champagne Punch
will be served in the lounges prior to a leisurely four course meal, with Sharon Kelly on hand to pipe you
into dinner.
Following dinner, the Peter Stewart Trio will lead the festivities and usher us over the line into the year 2025. Those of you still up can choose to celebrate the New Year with a Dram, Bucks Fizz, Mince Pies - or why not all three.
8.30am - 10.00am
Breakfast awaits, and aside from the normal spread, there will be
freshly cooked Omelettes with a choice of fillings, Minute Steaks and a glass of Bucks-Fizz as a wee
pick-me-up for those in need.
1.00 - 2.00pm
A light buffet lunch will be served in the dining room. After lunch why not visit “The Pitlochry Street Party”- the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band will be marching and playing and also a Ceilidh Band playing throughout. Entrance to the event is free and we have Mulled Wine for everyone at reception to help make the walk into town that little easier!
6.30pm
A Sherry reception in the lounges.
7.00pm followed by a four course dinner.
After dinner, please join The Alexander Lindsay Duo with some of your favourite tunes. Alistair and David will also put you on the spot for your answers to the New Year Quiz. No greater glory can be achieved in life, than to come out the overall winner.
8.00 - 10.00am
A full Scottish Breakfast and a safe journey home.
For those of you not in hurry to leave, complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be available in the main lounge.
If you wish to join us prior to Sunday 29th of December, or if you would like to stay on after the Hogmanay Break, dinner, bed and breakfast will be charged at a maximum of £139.00 per person for each additional night.
