Scottish Winter Nature Breaks with Russell Nisbet
These two breaks will comprise two indoor and two outdoor (weather permitting) sessions of two hours each discussing Scotland’s Wildlife with the emphasis being on the bird-life although we will also touch on mammals and trees in winter plus what to look out for in the coming spring. At the indoor sessions, there will be a tea/coffee break. The indoor sessions could include talks on ‘Local Wildlife’, Bird Identification Made Easy’, ‘Migration’ or ‘Bird Calls’. If the weather is pretty inclement, all sessions could be in the warmth and comfort of the hotel or we could pay a visit to bird-watching hides. The tutor is Russell Nisbet who has spent over 20 years wardening nature reserves around Britain plus tutoring at the nearby Kindrogan Field Centre as well as being a teacher/naturalist for the Scottish Wildlife Trust at the Montrose Basin, an assessor of holiday parks for the David Bellamy Conservation Awards and leader of wildlife holidays.
There is no supplementary charge for single accommodation on any of our activity breaks, and as normal, we can arrange free transport (on arrival and departure) between the hotel and the bus and railway stations.
Details about all of our activity breaks are readily available - either download a copy from this section, ask for them during you stay, or just telephone the hotel and ask us to forward a programme for whatever activity you are interested in.
