The Green Park has grown from its original country retreat, to become a country house hotel of some fifty one bedrooms.
As the Green Park hotel has expanded over the years into its present form, there is no question of the bedrooms being of standard shape and style. All are different and unique in terms of size, furnishings, colours and pictures. Almost all of the bedrooms at the hotel have splendid views over lawns and flower beds down to the waters of Loch Faskally.
As the vast majority of the hotel guests are people who come back regularly, they are inevitably attracted to particular bedrooms which hold fond memories for them. They book accommodation well in advance, but are reconciled to the hotel policy that at all times "first come is first served".
There are sixteen bedrooms on the ground floor, and these are obviously attractive to those who have difficulty with stairs. Once in the hotel, there are no steps throughout the ground floor with all of the public rooms, lounge bar, and dining-room on one level. Wheelchair access to the hotel is good, with graded approaches to the main reception, Garden Wing, and Tower Wing.
Our bedrooms are mainly twins or doubles; two are designed to accommodate three people, and single bedrooms are also available. In accordance with best modern practice, all rooms have full central heating, colour television, fridge, radio alarm clocks, direct dial telephones, hair dryers, trouser presses and tea/coffee making facilities. Pets are welcome but owners are asked not to take them into the public areas.
The hotel's accommodation is split into three main areas, which over the years have come to be known as:
The central Victorian building dates back to the 1870's and comes with a range of bedroom types and sizes spread over three floors. Bright and airy and most have garden or loch facing views. Three bedrooms are on the ground floor, eighteen are on the first floor and four bedrooms with balconies are on the second floor.
Designed as a sister wing to complement the Garden Wing, these twelve bedrooms were added in 2005. Underfloor heating, lift access and first floor loch views feature here. The bedrooms are on two floors, each with six bedroom. If you imagine that you are arriving at the hotel reception, then the Tower Wing is to your left-hand side.
Here the bedrooms are on two floors each with seven bedrooms, with most enjoying and interrupted views looking towards the garden and Loch Faskally. Looking out from the dining room the Garden Wing is to the left-hand side and like the Tower Wing, this wing has its own lift.
The four bedrooms which make up the second floor of the main building each come with a balcony and seating area. Panoramic views look out towards Loch Faskally and the hills beyond. These bedrooms can be reached by stairs from the first floor or directly by using the Garden Wing lift.
There are sixteen ground floor bedrooms in total, and all of the bedrooms in the Tower Wing are suitable for disabled guests to a greater or less degree. Bedroom number 61 (bathroom featured) is designed in particular to meet the needs of the more disabled.
There are two lifts at the hotel, both capable of taking nine people at any one time. One lift is situated in the lobby area of the Tower Wing, while the other is in the lobby area of the Garden Wing. The former serves all of the Tower Wing, while the latter serves the Garden Wing and the balcony bedrooms - and most of the main hotel.
Porterage is always available, both on arrival and departure - please do not hesitate to ask for help with your luggage, either by asking at reception or by dialing 0 from your bedroom.
