Around Loch Faskally

Local Walks

A very popular walk with guests at The Green Park is the circular walk around Loch Faskally. This route takes guests past Pitlochry’s Boating Station, over Loch Faskally via a footbridge around the far side of the Loch to the dam and Pitlochry’s famous fish ladder.

The beautiful woodlands contain a rich blend of oak, pine and birch with abundant wildlife.

This is a lovely walk around the Loch, which has sections on paved ground, some woodland paths and some steps. This route can take from 1.5 – 2 hours dependant on speed and how many tea stops you make!

This route can be completed in either direction, but we will go left out of The Green Park gate, and down towards the Boating station. Go left in front of the boating station and keep going until a left turn takes you onto the foot bridge over the loch (the bridge you see from the hotel), then head left and walk up the Foss Road, turning left again at the top, just before the A9, then head along the path until it forks, then go left again, which will lead you down to the Lochside, where you can follow the path all the way along until you reach the Dam.

From the dam one can walk back to the Green Park Hotel along the lochside - or walk up into Pitlochry, and return to the hotel along Atholl Road

Approx 3.5km - will take between 1.5 and 2 hours dependant on speed & ability

Terrain
