Perthshire offers many opportunities for exploration on foot, the perfect way to get close to nature throughout the seasons. Visitors can choose from a selection of stunning walks for all levels of fitness. Walkers can call at any Perthshire Tourist Information Centre for a comprehensive selection of walking leaflets, books and maps.
A very popular walk with guests at The Green Park is the circular walk around Loch Faskally. This route takes guests past Pitlochry’s Boating Station, over Loch Faskally via a footbridge around the far side of the Loch to Pitlochry Theatre and Pitlochry’s famous fish ladder with its observation chamber. From the dam one can walk back to the Green Park Hotel along the lochside - or walk up into Pitlochry, and return to the hotel along Atholl Road.
The beautiful woodlands contain a rich blend of oak, pine and birch with abundant wildlife.
The Pitlochry Walks leaflet details some six way marked walk routes, covering a total of 41 miles (6Km), with the walks of varying length and levels of difficulty. These circular walks offer a wide selection of scenery following rivers, lochside paths, shaded woodland tracks and steep hillsides with panoramic views.
Thirteen miles south of Pitlochry, you will find the Dunkeld Walks network which offers 8 routes and a total of 36 miles (58Km).
Six or seven miles north of the Green Park Hotel is Blair Atholl, and the Atholl Estates walks network. This offers six way marked routes varying in range from one mile to ten miles.
Copies of the Pitlochry Walks Leaflet are available from our hotel reception. Please ask for one during your stay, and just return it to our reception at the end of your holiday with us.
