The Green Park hotel has grown from its original country retreat, to become a country house hotel of some fifty one bedrooms.
As the Green Park hotel has expanded over the years into its present form, there is no question of the bedrooms being of standard shape and style. All are different and unique in terms of size, furnishings, colours and pictures. Almost all of the bedrooms at the hotel have splendid views over lawns and flower beds down to the waters of Loch Faskally. As part of the constant drive to improve the Green Park, the hotel now has two separate lifts - one each in the lobbies of the Garden Wing and the Tower Wing.
As the vast majority of the hotel guests are people who come back regularly, they are inevitably attracted to particular rooms which hold fond memories for them. They book accommodation well in advance, but are reconciled to the hotel policy that at all times "first come is first served".
There are sixteen bedrooms on the ground floor, and these are obviously attractive to those who have difficulty with stairs. Once in the hotel, there are no steps throughout the ground floor with all of the public rooms, lounge bar, and dining-room on one level. Wheelchair access to the hotel is good, with graded approaches to the main reception, Garden Wing, and Tower Wing entrances.
Bedrooms are mainly twin or double; two are designed to accommodate three people, and single rooms are also available. In accordance with best modern practice, all rooms have full central heating, colour television, radio alarm clocks, direct dial telephones, hair dryers, trouser presses and tea/coffee making facilities. Pets are welcomed but owners are asked not to take them into the public rooms.
The hotel's accommodation is split into three main areas, which over the years have come to be known as -
Here the bedrooms are on three floors. Three bedrooms are on the ground floor (rooms 1 - 3). Eighteen bedrooms are the first floor (rooms 4 - 40), and four bedrooms are on the second floor (rooms 21 - 24).
Here the bedrooms are on two floors, each with six bedrooms. Rooms 50 - 55 are on the first floor, while rooms 56 - 61 are on the ground floor. If you imagine that you are arriving at the hotel's reception, then the Tower Wing is to your left hand side.
Here the bedrooms are on two floors, each with seven bedrooms. Rooms 32 - 38 are on the ground floor, while rooms 25 - 31 are on the first floor. Looking out from the dining room towards Loch Faskally, the Garden Wing is to the left hand side.
The four bedrooms on the second floor have balconies, each with room for two 'deck' chairs and a table. The bedrooms on the second floor can be reached by stairs from the first floor, or directly by using the Garden Wing lift.
Room 61 on the ground floor of the Tower Wing is particularily well suited to wheelchair users with its specially modified bathroom.
The video tour of the bedroom and bathroom gives a good idea of what is available, but please feel free to pop into the hotel for a complimentray tea or coffee and a look around if you are ever in the area.
There are two lifts at the hotel, both capable of taking nine people at any one time. One lift is situated in the lobby area of the Tower Wing, while the other is in the lobby area of the Garden Wing. The former serves all of the Tower Wing, while the latter serves the Garden Wing and the balcony bedrooms - and most of the main hotel between the two of them.
Porterage is always available, both on arrival and departure - please do not hesitate to ask for help with your luggage, either by asking at reception or by dialing 0 from your bedroom.
