News from the Green Park Pitlochry Hotel

Over the years we have developed a good working relationship with Geraldine ( Balfour ), the Tourism and Hospitality Manager at Perth College. As a result, we encourage our fellow workers to take on the world of academia whenever they have a spare moment.

Our two latest successful students are David ( Gallacher ) and Julie ( Melrose ), and they can be seen proudly dispalying their exam results.

Julie, who is our right hand woman in housekeeping, passed her Certificate in Supervisory Development with flying colours. This involved her taking on eight modules such as effective time management, while being supported through 'work-based distance learning' from Perth College.

David, who can most often be found running dinners in the evening, has never had a cross word with his wife June Ann in all of the time that they have worked together at the Green Park Hotel. A fact that Alistair and Diane find quite remarkable! David took on, and achieved a Certificate in Business Management. This programme covered four specific areas - effective management - employing people - performance management - and time, stress, and crisis management.

As a family, we are delighted that our staff continue to develope their skills wherever possible, and we hope that our policy of providing funds for them to do so continues to bear fruit.
