January 2012 Dances at the Green Park Hotel

Our January dances have evolved over time almost by osmosis.

They originally formed part of the Curling Breaks we ran in conjunction with the late lamented Atholl Curling Rink. After dinner each Saturday in January, a band would play in the Sun Lounge. For those who just wanted to sit and chat this maent a nice background of music, while those of a more spritely nature would take to the dance floor. The music would not appeal to anyone under a certain age, as we obstinately insist on a mixture of traditional Scottish and ballroom favourites.

Rather than stop these Saturday evening dances with the demise of the curling rink, we have chosen to continue them along the very same lines. There is no extra charge for these evenings, and there is no entry level of dancing competence required; enthusiasm being seen as a real virtue.

During 2012 there will be a band playing in the Sun Lounge after dinner on -

Saturday the 7th of January.

Saturday the 14th of January.

Saturday the 21st of January.

Saturday the 28th of January.

and

Saturday the 11th of February ( Valentines Weekend ).
